LAS VEGAS – Lutheran Social Services of Nevada will hold an Easter egg hunt and resource fair for children and families from 2 to 5 p.m. April 6 at its headquarters, 4323 Boulder Highway.
One dozen resource partners will offer information and services. Admission and all services are free. Media is invited to attend.
At the fair, parents can visit booths offering free optometry testing; dental and health services; and free hygiene products. Children will receive Easter baskets filled with candies, puzzles and games and can participate in arts and crafts and can join an Easter egg hunt.
Children who find golden eggs may turn them in one of 20 luxury baskets from Champagne Basket Co and other door prizes.
Besides the giveaways, the fair will offer help with registering for post office boxes and identification cards from the Nevada Homeless Alliance; job hunting and interviewing help from Employ NV; information on educational resources; and information on a youth football camp led by National Football League Alumni, a group of the league’s former players.
Lutheran Social Services hopes to help 200-300 families at the event.
Lutheran Social Services of Nevada, which launched in 1985, annually helps more than 38,000 clients break free from poverty, homelessness and hunger. The nonprofit serves Southern Nevadans with a variety of nutrition and empowerment programs including DigiMart, a food pantry that lets clients order fruits, vegetables and other groceries online from their homes and from Lutheran Social Services of Nevada’s kiosks.
