Mary Rendina, vice president of the Las Vegas-based CAMCO , encouraged the 50 attendees at a recent community-building event to overcome self doubt and believe in themselves.
She was invited to address clients of an Edward Jones office, including women from the community of Kalispell, Montana, led by Financial Advisor Pearl Galbraith.
Rendina’s topic was “Thriving through Adversity.” One of Rendina’s three children had cancer as a child, and she had the opportunity to provide perspective about her experience as a working mom. “I was honored to have the opportunity to share with the women my experience of having a child with cancer and how it impacted our family. Although it was a difficult season, we grew closer and came out the other side with a stronger realization of what really matters,” she said. The gathering also featured an arborist from a local nursery who spoke about plant care. Each attendee got to plant a succulent and take it home.
