LAS VEGAS, Nev. (April 2, 2026) – Today, the Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE, an independent nonprofit that supports quality of life programs at the City of Las Vegas, announces three updates to its board of directors. Will Rucker, director of community health for Intermountain Health in Nevada, is appointed board chair. He joined the Mayor’s Fund board in July 2024 as a member at large.
Dr. Roy Whitmore, Ph.D., Program Chair, University of Phoenix, rejoins the board as a member at large after serving as chair of the Mayor’s Fund Advisory Committee. Whitmore joined the board in 2022 before transitioning to leadership of the organization’s advisory committee in 2024.
Christie Gray, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) & Fair Lending Officer for Toyota Financial Savings Bank, joins the Mayor’s Fund board as its newest member. In her position with Toyota Financial Savings Bank, Gray works to ensure fair access to credit and meaningful support for underserved communities.
As board chair, Rucker will help guide the Mayor’s Fund’s strategic direction and governance, supporting public-private partnerships that advance city initiatives focused on workforce development, education, technology, youth sports, public art and other programs that uplift vulnerable populations.
A respected community and public health leader, Rucker’s career has included a focus on advancing equity and well-being by strengthening the conditions that empower people and communities to thrive. He brings deep experience translating community priorities into sustainable action and measurable impact through cross-sector partnerships, data-informed strategy, and sustained civic engagement.
Drawing on his experience in public health, faith leadership, and multi-sector collaboration, Rucker brings institutions, policy leaders and philanthropic partners together around shared goals. His leadership emphasizes compassion as essential to civic infrastructure – ensuring caring for people and caring for place are inseparable.
“I am honored to serve as board chair of the Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE at a time when strategic philanthropy and strong governance are more important than ever,” said Rucker. “The Fund is uniquely positioned to align public and private capital around clearly defined outcomes, steward resources responsibly, and scale initiatives that deliver measurable returns for our community.
