Miracle Flights, a national non-profit based out of Las Vegas, Nevada marked an extraordinary achievement today at Harry Reid International Airport, celebrating 100 million miles flown in support of families in need of critical medical treatment. The event commemorated not only this significant milestone but also the courage of 8-year-old Luna D., a Las Vegas girl battling cancer. Luna travels to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City every three months for specialized oncology care, with the help of Miracle Flights. Every month Miracle Flights organizes and provides over 600 commercial flights, ensuring families do not face the added burden of travel costs when seeking life saving medical care far from home.
Prior to the family boarding their flight to Utah, a celebratory event took place next to the Southwest Airlines ticketing counter and included notable speakers such as Nevada Congresswoman Dina Titus, Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson, Miracle Flights’ CEO Mark Brown and executives from both Harry Reid International Airport and Southwest Airlines. Families like Luna’s, who have relied on Miracle Flights to ease the burden of travel expenses for vital treatment, were the center of attention, highlighting the organization’s dedication to making medical care accessible nationwide.
