Completing the first passport campaign in Nevada’s capital unlocks free admission to Heroes Night Out Event April 26
RENO, Nev. – Northern Nevada residents looking to support a great cause can participate in My Hometown Heroes’ Carson City edition of Heroes Night In through April 26. For the first time, Heroes Night In runs through Nevada’s capital for a month of discovery and discounts from 12 participating venues throughout Carson City. Proceeds support college-bound cancer survivors across the country for the Fall 2023 semester.
Heroes Night In passports start at $50 with bundle discounts available for groups. Passport holders can go at their own pace to receive discounted food or drink and other offerings from Carson Piazza, Cucina Lupo, Great Basin Brewing Company, Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar, Juan’s Mexican Grill & Cantina, Mom & Pops Diner, Nashville Social Club, Red’s Old 395 Grill, Scoups Ice Cream & Soup Bar, The Basil, The Fox Brewery & Pub and United Federal Credit Union.
Heroes Night In passports are available at the above locations in Carson City through April 26.
All roads lead to Heroes Night Out, a community celebration dedicated to those who have helped make scholarship dreams come true. Those who purchase a passport and participate in the Heroes Night In can attend the Heroes Night Out event for free on Wednesday, April 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at McFadden Plaza in Downtown Carson City. By completing the Heroes Night In passport, participants will be automatically entered into the grand prize raffle drawing during the event.
Heroes Night In was created during the summer of 2020 as a passport program spin-off of the organization’s Heroes Night Out event held each fall in Victorian Square in Sparks.
“We weren’t sure if we’d be able to hold Heroes Night Out in person that year,” said Danny Heinsohn, founder and executive director of My Hometown Heroes. “We knew our restaurant partners were hurting and that participants had varying levels of comfort when it came to dining out. Heroes Night In was a pivot, but it was so well received we’ve kept it going and now we are thrilled to bring the concept to Carson City, especially seeing how downtown has gone through such a beautiful revival over the past few years.”

About My Hometown Heroes
Battle Born in the State of Nevada, My Hometown Heroes (MHH) is a national scholarship fund for young adult cancer survivors. University of Nevada grad, Danny Heinsohn, started the foundation in 2010 to celebrate his 10th year of brain cancer remission. Since 2011, MHH has awarded scholarships to young adult survivors from across the country between the amounts of $1,000 and $5,000.
