The National Association of Women Business Owners Southern Nevada chapter (NAWBO) has announced its 2022 Women of Distinction Award (WODA) grant finalists.
The winners in each of the four grant categories will be announced at this year’s WODA luncheon held at Conference Center of Las Vegas, 6590 Bermuda Road, in Las Vegas, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 25th.
NAWBO’s mission is to help connect women to the resources that can help them achieve their professional goals. This year’s grants range in size from $1,000 to $3,000 and will be awarded to woman-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to support their future business or philanthropic efforts.
This year’s grant finalists include:
Women of Distinction Accelerate Grant: The grant recognizes the growth of a Southern Nevada woman-owned startup that is in the first 18 months of operation. Two $1,000 grants will be awarded to help the startup with expenses needed to accelerate its business.

Michelle Curran, Founder, Upside Down Dreams LLC
Minority Woman-Owned Business Grant: This grant recognizes and supports the growth of diverse and minority-run woman-owned small businesses in Southern Nevada. Two grants in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to support the growth of the woman-owned enterprise.

Kiana McFarland, Owner, Get Fit With Kiana
Woman of Distinction Grant: This grant is for a small woman-owned business that is less than three years old but experiencing rapid growth. Grant amount: $3,000.

Michelle Curran, Founder, Upside Down Dreams LLC
Kiana McFarland, Owner, Get Fit With Kiana
Tamara Kinoshita and Dana Perich, Lifestyle Mentors, TaDa Wellness
Community Angel Grant: This grant honors and supports an emerging leader in philanthropy and community service that has a direct impact on the local Las Vegas community. Two $1,500 grants will be awarded to further each recipient’s cause.
