LAS VEGAS – The Nevada Bankers Association (NBA), the united voice of Nevada’s diverse banking industry, is joining with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and USDA Rural Development to host a financial education summit to increase financial literacy and banking access for Nevada high school students.
In honor of financial literacy month, the event will work to increase financial education and general banking access for low- and moderate-income (LMI) high school students across the Silver State. The event is open to not only statewide financial institutions, but other stakeholders as well, including community organizations, educators and other local agencies.
“We’re bringing together stakeholders connected to education and financial literacy at this summit to improve access to banking and promote financial literacy for local students,” NBA President and CEO Phyllis Gurgevich said. “We want to foster actionable collaboration opportunities that will provide financial education and affordable bank accounts for all Nevada high school students.”
The virtual summit takes place on Tuesday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. via Microsoft Teams. Those interested in attending can register for the event at https://nvbankers.org/attend through April 6. A meeting link will be sent directly to those who register.
