LAS VEGAS – The Nevada Bankers Association (NBA) announced the speakers for its 2nd annual Nevada Trust Conference being held April 24-26 at Paris Las Vegas.
Industry-leading speakers include national speakers Jonathan Blattmachr, principal with Pioneer Wealth Partners; Sam Donaldson, of Georgia State University Law; and Paul Lee, of The Northern Trust Company. Nevada speakers include Michaelle Rafferty, shareholder with Maupin, Cox & Legoy; and Robert Armstrong, partner at the McDonald Carano law firm. Speakers focusing on digital assets include Matthew Saltzman, managing shareholder with Saltzman Mugan Dushoff; Albert Forkner, CEO of Fortress Trust; Elise McGee, of McDermott Will & Emery; and Chris Kline, CRO of Bitcoin IRA. Exemplifying a wide-range of speakers, Armstrong is a is a third-generation Nevadan with a wealth of expertise advising high-net-worth clients and family trust companies on Nevada’s trust, estate and tax planning legal and regulatory landscape. He will speak about trust and estate planning changes and challenges, what’s new with trust law in Nevada, and share his outlook on upcoming developments.
Blattmachr lectures and has written extensively on estate and trust taxation and charitable giving, writing nine books and more than 500 articles on estate planning and other tax issues. He will speak about the best use of trusts under recently updated tax rules.
Fernandez is a CPA with more than 15 years of experience. He specializes in tax compliance and planning for high-net-worth individuals. He has expertise in business tax planning and compliance for closely held domestic and foreign corporations; inbound transactions for foreign corporations, partnerships and individuals; foreign tax planning and trust reporting; and nonresident alien assistance with complying with U.S. reporting requirements.
McGee advises high-net-worth individuals and business owners on all aspects of wealth-transfer planning, including estate and trust administration, leveraged wealth-transfer techniques, tax matters, cryptocurrency and QSBS planning, real estate transactions and closely held business matters.
She has extensive experience working with owners of closely held businesses to develop governance and succession plans, and on corporate, tax and compliance matters relating to those businesses. McGee is an American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) Fellow, and has been recognized in Chambers High Net Worth 2022, Illinois: Private Wealth, Up and Coming. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Trust Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association, where she acts as legislative liaison.
