Nevada Care Connection is a program of JFSA, funded by the State of Nevada. Nevada Care Connection works with older adults, people with disabilities, Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, and family caregivers to explore a variety of services, resources, and programs available to them. Our goal is to help individuals make informed decisions and connect to services as easily as possible.

Program helps vulnerable populations navigate the healthcare system and is on track to nearly double last year’s volume

LAS VEGAS, NV – Nevada Care Connection, a state-funded program overseen by JFSA, has exponentially increased its reach over the past two years. It helps older adults, people with disabilities, and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing navigate the healthcare system to find critical services they need in Southern Nevada.

The program’s popularity has seen a tremendous increase since the 2020-21 fiscal year when it came under the auspices of JFSA. Nevada Care Connection tripled the number of people it has helped, from just under 500 in the first year to 1,600 at the close of the 2022-23 fiscal year. Now, in the first quarter of fiscal year 2023-24, nearly 700 people were served, putting the program on track to nearly double last year’s efforts.

Nevada Care Connection supports clients by linking them to resources such as In-Home Services, Acute Care, Veterans Services, and Financial Support programs. It also refers caregivers to helpful support systems and programs. Counselors in the program assist these populations and their caregivers in making the most informed decisions possible when it comes to their care needs.

“So many older adults and those with disabilities just don’t know where to start when it comes to finding the healthcare resources they need,” said Ken Moskowitz, JFSA’s CEO. “I’m so proud of our team and how they are helping more and more people every year, and we look forward to continuing to grow the program in the future.”
