Dairy Month coincides with Nevada Agriculture Month, an opportunity to recognize farmers, ranchers and producers who contribute to the state’s agricultural heritage and economy.
June 1, 2026 (RENO, Nev.) — This June, the Nevada Dairy Farmers are celebrating National Dairy Month and Nevada Agriculture Month by introducing the families behind the farms that help nourish communities across the state.
Through the “From Our Herd to Yours” campaign, the Nevada Dairy Farmers are shining a spotlight on the people behind Nevada’s dairy farms with storytelling and community connections that unite consumers to the local farmers caring for cows and producing dairy in Nevada.
The campaign celebrates the hardworking Nevada families who help bring fresh, wholesome milk from their farms to family tables across the region.
As part of the month-long celebration, Nevada Dairy Farmers will host a Calf Naming Contest on Instagram, inviting the community to help name a new calf and engage directly with Nevada dairy farming in a fun and interactive way. Visit Nevada Dairy Farmer’s Instagram to submit your name. The winner will be announced on June 25, 2026 by a local dairy farmer with their calf!
The organization will collaborate with regional social media content creators to share authentic stories, family moments, nutritional tips and recipes. Participating creators include Cyd Curle, Andi Singer, Laura Visconti, Lynda Perez and Sarah Elrod.
“Dairy farming is deeply personal because these farms are built around family,” said Libby Lovig, RDN, LD, general manager at Nevada Dairy Farmers. “The same care Nevada dairy farm families put into raising their cows is the care they put into supporting the communities they call home. This campaign is about celebrating those connections and helping people see the neighbors behind the dairy products in their refrigerators.”
Community members are also encouraged to attend Nevada Dairy Kids’ Day at the Reno Rodeo on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Reno Livestock Events Center Indoor Arena. The family-friendly event will feature interactive activities including milking a cow, horseback rides, photos with rodeo royalty, animal exhibits and the 10th Annual Mutton Bustin’ Championship.
“Dairy has always been about bringing people together around the table and around shared experiences,” said Lovig. “Whether it’s through community events, local partnerships or everyday moments at home, we’re proud to celebrate the families behind Nevada dairy and the role they play in communities across the state.”
