14 transplant recipients, living donors and donor family members to represent
Nevada in national competition
LAS VEGAS/RENO, NEV. (June 17, 2026) – Nevada Donor Network (NDN) is proud to announce that Team Nevada will travel to Denver to compete in the 2026 Transplant Games of America, a national event celebrating the power of organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation. The games will take place June 18-23 in the Mile High City and is expected to draw thousands of competitors from across the country.
Team Nevada is comprised of 14 athletes, including transplant recipients, living donors and donor family members, who will compete in a variety of events, including swimming, track and field, bowling and other competitions. The team will join thousands of participants from across the country for the biennial event, which highlights the lifesaving and healing impact of donation and transplantation.
“The Transplant Games of America celebrates the incredible gift of life made possible through organ, eye and tissue donation,” said Tyre Gray, a kidney recipient and chief administrative and legal officer of The Donor Network. “Our Team Nevada athletes represent the resilience, determination and gratitude that define the donation and transplant community. We are honored to support them as they share their stories and inspire others to register as donors.”
The 2026 Transplant Games of America will also mark an important milestone for Nevada Donor Network with the debut of The Donor Network, a multi-state operator of organ procurement organizations. Established by Nevada Donor Network’s leadership team, The Donor Network includes both Nevada Donor Network and South Florida Donor Network and was formed following CMS approval for Nevada Donor Network to assume responsibility for organ procurement services in the South Florida Donation Service Area earlier this year.
Every two years, the Transplant Games of America gathers thousands of transplant recipients, living donors, donor families, individuals on the waiting list, caregivers, transplant professionals, supporters and spectators for the world’s largest celebration of life. At the Transplant Games, recipients are given the chance to show the world that having a transplant is a second chance at a full, productive, and inspiring life as well as display to their donor families what their gift means to them.
