LAS VEGAS, Nev. (September 17, 2024) – 21 nonprofits were awarded $15,000 in unrestricted funds to execute their plans to sustain and expand their impact on Nevadans long-term. It’s all part of the Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative, developed by Nevada GrantLab in partnership with the Nevada Community Foundation + COVID-19 Taskforce. The program helps nonprofits that have experienced pandemic-related disruptions to plan for the future through co-learning and technical support.
“On any given day, achieving financial sustainability and managing growth are top of mind for nonprofits. Despite pandemic-related emergency funds expiring, the demand for community services continues to outpace the resources available to nonprofits,” said Miles Dickson, founder and CEO of Nevada GrantLab. “The Sustainability Initiative was designed to help nonprofits continue their important community programs, not just through learning opportunities but also through funds to put that learning into action.”
The $15,000 grants support sustainability plans developed during the fellowship experience. Further, an additional $100,000 in unrestricted funding is available through the initiative.
“Nonprofits were on the frontlines of Nevada’s response to the pandemic, and they are at the heart of our recovery,” said Gian Brosco, president and CEO of the Nevada Community Foundation. “A sustainable, healthy nonprofit community is a sustainable and healthy Nevada. Achieving this will take real investment– in the people, the programs, and the organizations. It takes collaborations and partnerships. I’m delighted that Nevada GrantLab is taking on this important work of supporting those who are working hard every day to improve our communities.
