The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety has released its December 2024 Statewide Fatal Report, and the statistics are grim. 412 lives were needlessly lost on Nevada’s roadways in 2024, showing a 5.64% increase from last year. Even worse, the numbers are continuing to trend upwards going into 2025.
With the new year in full swing, it is an opportune time for Nevadans to set resolutions that promote safety and responsibility on Nevada’s roadways. Starting 2025 with a commitment to safe driving can set the tone for a fresh start and prevent the unnecessary tragedies, because one roadway fatality is one too many.
“Losing 412 lives on Nevada’s roadways last year is absolutely unacceptable,” said Nevada Office of Traffic Safety Public Information Officer Anita Pepper. “Our roads are a shared responsibility, and nobody should feel like they are putting their life on the line every time they drive. As Nevadans, we must remember to remain steadfast in our efforts to drive safely, because lives are on the line.”
