The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety released its January 2026 Statewide Fatal Report, and the numbers are lower compared to this time last year. In January 2026, 26 lives were claimed on Nevada’s roadways compared to 39 in January 2025, marking a 33.33% decrease. This reduction is proof that Nevadans are starting the year off committed to improving road safety statewide; but we still have work to do because every life matters. Together, we can make 2026 even safer.
As we approach Big Game weekend, the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety would like to remind all Nevadans to plan safe rides home ahead of game day celebrations, and practice safe driving year-round to prevent death and injury on our roadways.
Attached is the state’s January 2026 Fatal Report in full. Please note that this report is a point in time comparison. 2026 data is preliminary and does not necessarily include final reports (Form 5, Coroner, and/or Toxicology reports). 2026 data will not be final until early 2028.
