The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety released its May 2025 Statewide Fatal Report, and the numbers are nearly cut in half compared to last year. In May 2025, 25 lives were claimed on Nevada’s roadways compared to 42 in May 2024. So far in 2025, there have been 162 road fatalities in Nevada, compared to 179 this time last year. Despite the 9.5% improvement, the continued loss of life on Nevada’s roadways is completely preventable and any number of traffic fatalities other than zero is unacceptable.
As drivers move through the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer, which is the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day known as the most dangerous time for teen drivers, The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety would like to remind Nevadans to be mindful of those they share the road with.
Attached is the state’s April Fatal Report in full. Please note that this report is a point in time comparison. 2025 data is preliminary and does not necessarily include final reports (Form 5, Coroner, and/or Toxicology reports). 2025 data will not be final until early 2027.
