The Nevada Treasury, along with its generous community partners, will host its Annual Back to School Fair at Rancho High School on Thursday, August 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. The community event is free to the public and will provide important school essentials and a range of resources to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.
“Our mission is to empower Nevada families by nurturing strong educational foundations—from the first day of school, through college, and beyond,” said Dr. Tya Mathis-Coleman, Deputy Treasurer, College Savings, Nevada Treasury. “This event is about bringing the community together to ensure every student starts the school year prepared and inspired. Families will have access to essential resources and information on how to start saving for college now, because we believe every child deserves the opportunity to dream big and plan for their future.”
In addition to school supplies, families can access a variety of free services to help students prepare for the year ahead. The event will also feature fun and entertainment, with more than $1,000 in raffle prizes to be given away. Also, students will have the opportunity to receive a FREE backpack or lunch kit at the event. Parents can also speak with representatives to learn about the Treasury’s 529 college savings plans and how to begin saving for higher education.
