The Nevada Treasury will host its Annual Back-to-School Fair at Rancho High School on Friday, July 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. The community event is free to attend and will provide important school essentials as well as a range of resources to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.
The first 1,000 K–12 students in attendance will receive a free backpack or lunchbox. A variety of complimentary services will be provided by the Treasury and its generous community partners, including school supplies, haircuts, balloon art, face painting and themed photo opportunities.
Additionally, students and their families will have a chance to win more than $1,000 in raffle prizes donated by 15 local businesses and community organizations, including two 529 college savings plans, a laptop and an iPad provided by the Treasury.
“We believe in equitable access to education for every child,” said Dr. Tya Mathis-Coleman, Deputy Treasurer, College Savings, Nevada Treasury. “Our goal is to give students and their families the best chance at success by bringing the community together, providing resources and spreading information on how to start saving for college. We hope to help Nevada families start the academic year inspired and create a sustainable plan for their future.”
