Annual fundraiser empowers women through education and career advancement opportunities
RENO, Nev. — Nevada Women’s Fund (NWF) is now accepting applications from local vendors for the 17th Annual Power of the Purse event, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Downtown Reno Ballroom. This highly anticipated event, which draws nearly 1,000 attendees each year, offers vendors an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their products to a large and enthusiastic audience as the holiday shopping season kicks off.
NWF is looking for vendors specializing in fashion, accessories, artisan crafts and jewelry, home décor, gourmet food, health and beauty products, and more. With limited booth spaces available, vendors are encouraged to apply early to secure their spot at this premier shopping event.
“This year, we’re eager to curate a diverse array of vendors to create an unforgettable shopping experience for our attendees,” said Marge Millar, NWF Director of Operations and Events. “We carefully select our vendors to ensure a variety of high-quality products, providing each vendor with a greater share of the customer base.”
Available booth sizes include:
-
1 booth at 30 ft. x 10 ft.
-
Approximately 15 booths at 15 ft. x 10 ft.
-
Approximately 29 booths at 10 ft. x 10 ft.
Booth spaces start at $150, and vendors are encouraged to submit their applications by Sept. 13, 2024. Interested vendors can apply online at https://form.jotform.com/241716946060154 or by visiting the Nevada Women’s Fund website.
Power of the Purse is more than just a shopping event; it is a celebration of the collective economic power of women. Household purchasing is largely controlled by women, who often choose to spend their dollars on causes and products they value. Nevada Women’s Fund recognizes that when women embrace their economic potential, they can leverage their success to uplift others and foster solidarity. Ultimately, the true power of the purse is defined by the woman carrying it.
“Power of the Purse has become a beloved tradition in Northern Nevada,” said Ila Achtabowski, NWF President and CEO. “This event not only raises funds for a great cause but also allows us to connect with and support the local community in meaningful ways.”
