The Workforce Connections Chief Local Elected Official (LEO) Consortium has new leadership roles, with Las Vegas Councilwoman Olivia Diaz now serving as chair of the consortium.
While not members of the Workforce Connections Board, the LEOs oversee primary board activities such as appointing board members, fiduciary responsibilities over local area resources, budget approvals, and coordinating inter-local government agreements. The LEOs are appointed to the consortium by their respective government bodies.
New leadership roles are assumed every two years. The LEOs assumed their new roles during the November 14, 2023, Chief Local Elected Official Consortium meeting. The new roles are:
Olivia Diaz, City of Las Vegas, Councilwoman, Ward 3 – LEO Consortium Chair
Michelle Romero, City of Henderson, Mayor – LEO Consortium Vice Chair
