RENO, NEV. (May 2, 2025) – Walmart customers in Northwest Reno were welcomed inside the newly transformed Supercenter at 5260 W 7th St. this morning as the much-anticipated project is now complete. Creating omni-shopping experiences that save customers time and money, Walmart continues its transformational journey to become America’s favorite place to shop whether in-store, online or via the mobile app.
Walmart associates marked the occasion this morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony, community celebration, and the unveiling of a community-inspired mural. To further illustrate Walmart’s commitment to helping others to live better in the to the communities it serves, the store manager and several associates presented a $3,800 grant to local nonprofit organization, My Haven, a unique sensory indoor playground dedicated to uplifting and supporting children and young adults with special needs.
During this morning’s celebration, store leaders and associates highlighted the transformation as well as the new interactive features available to customers in the 205,319 square foot store, including:
- New Look: Big, bold signage. Exciting new displays to better showcase merchandise.
- More Selection: Expanded departments, like apparel and housewares. New items. More of what customers are looking for.
- Expanding Online Pickup & Delivery: To fulfill the growing number of online customer orders. New shaded parking spots.
- Rethinking Our Pharmacy and Vision Center: Wider aisles. New private screening room. Privacy checkout areas.
- Updated Mother’s Room: To care for the next generation of Walmart customers.
The ceremony concluded with the exciting unveiling of the store’s new mural, designed and illustrated by local artist, Adam Tonnie. The mural is an eye-catching installation that reflects the diversity and local cultures of, attractions and best that Reno has to offer.
This mural is part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program, one of the largest public-facing art installation celebrating communities across America. Walmart’s Community Mural Program is an important part of each store transformation and furthers Walmart’s commitment to the local community.

I’m impressed with the new design of the Walmart on 7th in NW Reno. It makes for a more relaxed atmosphere for a better shopping experience. It reminds me of how Target changed and it made for a better shopping experience. Kudos to the marketing team at Walmart!
