Project showcases the company’s expertise in delivering complex commercial construction projects
Las Vegas, NV – From cutting-edge STEM laboratories to an esports arena and automotive learning lab, Nigro Construction completed one of Southern Nevada’s most innovative educational facilities with the Hooks Family Innovation & Technology Center at Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School.
Breaking ground in fall 2024 and completed ahead of the 2026-2027 school year, the 92,917-square-foot, two-story facility was designed to support the future of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education through specialized learning environments that required thoughtful planning, technical expertise and close collaboration from concept to completion.
“We’ve built a lot of incredible projects over the past 40 years, but the ones that stand out are the ones where great ideas and great partnerships come together,” said Mike Nigro, president of Nigro Construction. “The Hooks Family Innovation & Technology Center reflects what can be accomplished when a client has a bold vision and the right team is there to make it a reality.”
Building Complex Projects through Collaboration
The Hooks Family Innovation & Technology Center was designed to support the future of STEM education through flexible, technology-enabled spaces that encourage collaboration, creativity and hands-on learning. Delivering that vision required early planning, continuous coordination and a strategic construction partner capable of managing the project’s specialized requirements from start to finish. The completed project features:
- State-of-the-art STEM laboratories with fume hoods, wash stations, and specialized equipment.
- Dedicated physics laboratory with a custom ceiling mount for heavyweight experiments.
- Environmental science lab with access to an outdoor saltwater tank for hands-on learning.
- Technology-enabled learning spaces supporting modern education.
- High-performance esports arena with gaming PCs, premium seating, acoustic treatments, and customizable LED lighting.
- Interactive physics playground for experiential STEM education.
- Spacious lobby welcoming students, staff, and visitors.
- Large multipurpose room designed for collaboration, presentations, and events.
- Outdoor courtyard for collaboration, recreation, and student gathering.
“Every specialized space has unique infrastructure, technology and building requirements that have to work together seamlessly,” said Cory Frank, vice president of business development and project management. “Our role is bringing all of those moving pieces together so our clients can stay focused on their vision while we focus on delivering it.”
Creating Spaces That Shape the Future
The completion of the facility adds to Nigro Construction’s portfolio of commercial projects across Southern Nevada, reflecting the company’s continued focus on delivering specialized spaces through collaboration, craftsmanship and thoughtful execution.
“Our success is measured by our clients’ success,” said Mike Nigro. “When we hand over the keys, we want them to know they had a partner they could trust every step of the way. That’s the standard we’ve built our reputation on for more than 40 years, and it’s the standard we bring to every project.”
