Nigro Construction is launching its first Toys & Tools Holiday Drive from Monday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, a community initiative aimed at collecting toys for foster children, along with tools for high school students at local trade schools pursuing careers in construction. This drive encourages the Southern Nevada community to contribute to the future of the skilled trades while helping make the holidays brighter for kids in need.
“With our first Toys & Tools Holiday Drive, Nigro Construction is calling on the Southern Nevada community to come together to support local kids and students this holiday season,” said Cory Frank, Vice President of Business Development and Project Management, Nigro Construction. “By donating toys, you’re bringing holiday cheer to foster children in our community. By donating tools, you’re investing in the future workforce that will build and maintain the infrastructure that keeps our city strong. Together, we can support the next generation and make a positive impact.”
Toy donations will benefit local foster and adopted children through Fostering Hope, an organization that provides support and resources for foster, adoptive, and kinship families. Tool donations will support trade students from Northwest Career and Technical Academy, Southeast Career and Technical Academy, and East Career and Technical Academy, helping to provide resources to equip the future construction workforce.
“Community support, like the Toys & Tools Drive, is essential in helping students successfully transition from the classroom to the workforce,” said Miriya Julian, magnet coordinator, Southeast Career and Technical Academy. “The tools donated will provide them with hands-on experience, preparing them for real-world jobs in construction, engineering and skilled trades to build the places we live and work. We’re deeply grateful for your investment in their future – and in the future of our community.”
How to Participate:
Community members are encouraged to donate the following items:
- Donate Toys: Bring new, unwrapped toys suitable for children aged birth through sixteen.
- Donate Tools: New, unwrapped tools including 25′ tape measures, safety glasses, screwdrivers, push brooms, utility knives, nail pullers, single pouch tool bags, general drill bits, torpedo levels, and extension cords.
- Cash Donations and Amazon Gift Cards will also be accepted.
Donations for the Toys & Tools Holiday Drive will be accepted from Monday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024 at the following locations:
