RENO, Nev. – For the past 38 years, STEP2 has served approximately 200 women per year. The Reno-based non-profit treatment center for women battling substance use disorder proudly announces the admission of its 5,000th resident. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to break the cycle of addiction and violence in families by empowering women to build and maintain a clean and sober life.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported our mission,” said Mari Hutchinson, CEO of STEP2. “And congratulations to each inspiring woman who has worked hard to create lasting change for herself, her family, and each generation that follows.”
Since 1986, STEP2 has provided a safe, supportive space and a highly effective program to help women, mothers and expectant mothers in our community get and stay clean and sober. The organization provides evidence-based comprehensive-care programs with support for every aspect of a woman’s sobriety journey – from trauma recovery and domestic violence education to employment and childcare assistance. It’s a proven, holistic approach that inspires meaningful and lasting growth. Most participants remain in the program for 9 to 15 months.

The 5,000th admission underscores STEP2’s enduring commitment to empowering women, equipping them with the tools they need to get clean and sober and create lasting change.
