The Board of Regents is pleased to announce that Kevin J. Page has been awarded Regent Emeritus status by the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). Page was appointed to the Board of Regents as the representative for District 3 by Governor Jim Gibbons in January 2009 and was retained in the 2010 and 2014 elections. Page served two terms as chairman of the Board of Regents and two terms as vice chairman.
Page was born and raised in Queens, New York and attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance in 1986 and a Master of Business Administration in 1987. Page has served on a number of Nevada boards including the UNLV Alumni Board of Directors and the Police and Fire Emerald Society of Nevada. In 2006, Page was awarded the Distinguished Nevadan Award which is considered one of the most prestigious awards conferred by the Board of Regents.
“It is an honor to grant Regent Emeritus status to Kevin J. Page in recognition of his service to NSHE and commitment to Nevada,” said Byron Brooks, Board of Regents chair. “Kevin has a long history of serving our community through his alma mater and NSHE. He is a community leader in the highest sense and we are happy to formally recognize him for his contributions.”
Emeritus Status is a highly prestigious accolade and can only be granted to former regents who have served a minimum of 12 years on the Board. The status recognizes a recipient’s lengthy service as well as a dedication to undertake two elections or retention by the electorate after appointment to office. Emeritus status recognizes distinguished service to NSHE and an overall commitment to Nevada.
