Olive Giner, account and public relations coordinator at KPS3, has successfully completed the Examination for the Certificate in Principles of Public Relations (CPPR), earning the certification less than six months after graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno’s Reynolds School of Journalism.
The CPPR is administered by the Public Relations Society of America’s Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), which also administers the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations (APR). The CPPR is an entry-level certificate designed to demonstrate a fundamental level of knowledge for graduates entering the public relations profession and related fields. Giner is one of seven employees at KPS3 to complete a public relations certification or accreditation program from the UAB.
“Olive is a go-getter who is driven to develop a deeper understanding of their work and the public relations profession,” said Nicole Shearer, APR, director of public relations at KPS3. “They are extremely motivated to continue to learn and grow, and this achievement is a testament to that. The entire team at KPS3 is thrilled to congratulate Olive on this professional achievement, a significant accomplishment and career milestone.”
The CPPR examination can only be completed by students six months prior to or post-graduation who are members of their local Public Relations Student Society of America chapter. It consists of a rigorous study course and a proctored examination at a Prometric Testing Center.
Giner graduated magna cum laude from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus on public relations. Prior to graduation, they were awarded AAF Reno’s Outstanding Student in Strategic Communications Award. Their love of marketing led them to KPS3 where they enrolled in the agency’s externship program. In May 2022, they started part-time as an account coordinator while completing their degree, and in May 2023 they joined the agency full-time as an account and public relations coordinator.
