WHAT: Advanced practice registered nurse Mary Esele will lead breast health talks at the Optum Community Centers in October, aligned with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Esele will share breast health information and facts about the importance of mammograms, and help women understand the symptoms, signs and risk factors, along with other helpful information.
These talks, like all Optum Community Center events, are free and open to the public, with no advance registration required. Additionally, all attendees will be entered for a chance to win a Vegas Golden Knights “Hockey Fights Cancer” game jersey.

WHY:
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women in the U.S. Learning about breast cancer, including risk factors, symptoms, early detection options and treatments, can lead to early detection. Early detection can result in higher rates of prevention, and preventing cancer through early detection can improve the health of those diagnosed with cancer.
