LAS VEGAS — (SEPT. 24, 2024) — Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery is pleased to announce the promotion of Shannon Nordyke to the position of general manager. This advancement marks a significant milestone in Nordyke’s distinguished career.Nordyke embarked on her professional journey in 2004, after earning an associate degree in Health Science in Mortuary Science from Carl Sandburg College. Her career began as a family service counselor for Service Corporation International (SCI) in Iowa before relocating to Las Vegas in 2007.
“Shannon has proven her leadership qualities time and time again,” said Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries President Celena DiLullo. “Her dedication to Palm and her team has been monumental, we can’t wait to see her confidently step into this role.”
In Las Vegas, she initially worked as a funeral arranger and later took on roles at various funeral homes, including Palm Northwest. In 2014, Nordyke quickly demonstrated her commitment and leadership as a funeral director. She was promoted to location manager in 2018 and further advanced to the Palm Eastern location in 2022. Her tenure at Palm Eastern has been marked by significant contributions, including serving as a military liaison and first responder liaison, and building strong community relationships.
Nordyke has also been actively involved in Palm’s Talent Management Program and has been a key member of the Palm Fallen Heroes team since 2019. Her dedication to her role and team is evident in her leadership and investment in professional development.
Outside of her professional achievements, Nordyke enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and family, particularly her nephews.
