Klein teaches political science courses in the Department of Political Science, such as classes on political campaigns, elections, state and local government, and citizen activism.
This is the second time Klein has won the award, and the second college/department at the University of Nevada. He won the award in 2023 for his instruction for the College of Business, where he taught advanced management classes.

When not teaching about politics, Paul Klein works in politics as a lobbyist and partner at Tri-Strategies. In the 2025 legislative session, he and his team navigated a divided government to secure major wins for clients, including an external claim review process, hygienist licensing reforms, and faster payments for the Nevada Dental Association; ratification of the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact (the only interstate compact among several proposed to pass), disability parking upgrades, and loan repayment inclusion for the Nevada Physical Therapy Board; and salary increases, streamlined bargaining, standardized sick leave, and a wellness task force for the Nevada Police Union. Klein was named a Top Lobbyist by the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics in both 2023 and 2025. He is also an experienced campaign strategist who has helped elect candidates in local, state, and congressional races across Nevada.
