The Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2013 by Clark County Firefighters, Local 1908. The Fund’s mission is to support disabled and retired Local 1908 members, their families and survivors, along with charitable organizations throughout Southern Nevada. Since its inception, the Fund has donated more than $430,000 to firefighter families in need and to multiple Southern Nevada charities, including Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, USO-Las Vegas, MDA of Southern Nevada, Vegas Strong, Vegas Golden Knights Charities, and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada.
The Fund also provides scholarships to members of the public who demonstrate a commitment to education. Each scholarship is awarded in memory of a Local 1908 firefighter who died in the line of duty. To date, nearly $90,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded to local high school seniors.
Every member of Clark County Firefighters, Local 1908, contributes a monthly donation to the Fund, and many also volunteer their off-duty time to raise awareness and funds for the organizations the Fund supports.
