Disadvantaged local students to shop for free for school clothes and necessities
WHAT:
There are nearly 7,000 homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students in the Las Vegas Valley, many of whom don’t have basic necessities such as socks, underwear, shoes and clothing to start the school year.
Project 150, a local nonprofit that provides these students with such items, is kicking off the school year by hosting a free back-to-school teen shopping event July 24-29.
Any local high school student with an ID can shop at Betty’s Boutique, Project 150’s 1,850-square-foot showroom where students can find new and gently used clothing, shoes and accessories throughout the school year. To shop, students must make an appointment at www.Project150.org/events.

- Students who are shopping or in line can be photographed from the back, or when shopping, photographers can show their hands looking over merchandise. Please don’t photograph faces of the students. Media are free to photograph Project 150 volunteers.
- Project 150 will have one or two students who will be allowed to speak to the media.
