LAS VEGAS – Local nonprofit Project 150 will open its second Las Vegas location on Sept. 6 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for invited guests and members of the media.
Named “The Rose,” the second location for the homegrown local charity will meet the growing need for services benefiting thousands of homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students throughout 75 high schools in Southern Nevada.
“We’re excited to expand our services and support to students who need a helping hand and look forward to this next chapter for Project 150,” said Kelli Kristo, executive director of Project 150. “We understand what students need to graduate from high school, and our second location will help us meet those needs.”
Thanks to the generosity of the Engelstad Foundation and the estate of Kirk Kerkorian, Project 150 purchased the building at 2605 E. Flamingo Road for $1.3 million and renovated the 7,700-square-foot location to meet its needs. The new location will be home to a second Las Vegas location of its Betty’s Boutique, a place where local high school students can shop for free clothing and more in a boutique-style setting. The building also includes offices, a student education and empowerment center and warehouse space.
Project 150 welcomes donations of new and like-new clothing and accessories for local teens. In addition, donations of school supplies, hygiene items and financial contributions are always welcome.

Project 150 is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization, founded in December 2011 by local businessmen Don Purdue and Patrick Spargur. The two heard about 150 homeless high school students at Rancho High School in Las Vegas who were in need of support over the Christmas break. Since that time, Project 150 has expanded and now operates two Southern Nevada locations serving more than 7,000 registered and non-registered homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students in more than 75 schools in Nevada.
