Las Vegas residents will join 67 other communities for St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer on Sept. 15
This September, thousands of individuals nationwide will join together in the battle against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases by participating in the Las Vegas St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. Las Vegas is one of 67 cities nationwide helping bring attention to these terrible diseases during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
In Las Vegas, the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer will take place Sept. 15 at Town Square Las Vegas.
Thanks to generous donors and events like the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. With the support of Walk/Run participants, donors and more, we can end childhood cancer together.
“Through our partnership with St. Jude and with the community, we want to make a lasting and positive contribution,” said Jay Lee, Regional Director with Ashley Furniture. “More importantly, our commitment to raise funds will help ensure that St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
All Las Vegas community members are invited to participate and registration for the Las Vegas St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer is now open and is $10 for adults and children ages 6 and up. Participants are encouraged to form teams and raise funds to help support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude.
National series sponsors for the event include: Target, Thrivent Mutual Funds and America Airlines. Local sponsors of the event are Ashely Furniture, AXA, Steelman Partners, Wells Cargo and Flores Family Dental.
