Reno, Nev. (January 10, 2024) – Reno Public Market (RPM) is celebrating one year of officially being open for business this month on January 20. The Reno community is invited to participate in commemorating the first anniversary with a Reno Public Market 1st Anniversary Party, filled with events and activities happening all day for the whole family.
RPM’s anniversary celebration is open to all and will include:

Bounce house from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Face painting from 12-2 p.m.

Passed bites throughout the day from RPM food vendors

Raffles and giveaways

Exhibitions from retail tenants showcasing their products and knowledge

Day entertainment: Dom and Friends from 2-5 p.m.

Evening entertainment: New Wave Crave from 7-10 p.m.
“It is exciting to see how our plan for Reno Public Market is coming to fruition over the last year, and hitting the one year mark officially open is such a momentous milestone,” said Rick Casazza, partner, Reno Public Market. “It has been amazing to watch how RPM’s evolution from Shoppers Square has paralleled the City of Reno’s development over the years. We look forward to what is in store for RPM in 2024 and beyond.”
Originally known as Shoppers Square, RPM’s first form opened its doors in 1964 by the Cassaza family, who saw potential in what was formerly their family ranch. Shoppers Square hosted big stores including Skaggs Drugstore, Mayfair Market, and also local shops like Faye’s Sportswear, a dress shop. For decades, this market was a central part of Reno’s culture and commerce.
Over the years, the community evolved and sought different forms of shopping and dining, incentivizing the Casazza family to rebrand their development. In January 2023, RPM opened, with over 20 dining and shopping vendors and a large variety of community-centered events for Reno locals and visitors alike, reflecting the history of Shoppers Square with a forward-thinking feel.
Customers can shop in the West Hall, have a drink at Honey Bar, and enjoy live music on the stage ‘Live at Faye’s’—under the same neon sign from Shoppers Square.
