RENO, Nev. – The Reno/Sparks Association of REALTORS® (RSAR) announced the winner of the Abraham Curry Award at its annual installation dinner. Abraham Curry was proclaimed to be a visionary and dedicated, forward-thinking Nevada resident.
The Abraham Curry Award was presented to Kimberly Robinson, executive director of the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency.
Robinson received the award for the integral role she played in an important housing study focused on the Truckee Meadows, which represented a collaborative effort of many partners, including REALTORS®. This study acted as a call to action to launch other important forums to further the conversation on workforce and affordable housing.
Since the completion of the study and community forums, significant progress has been made. This is in part to Robinson’s willingness and perseverance in engaging key leaders and policymakers in our region to support the need for a regional approach to address our affordable and workforce housing needs.
Robinson has been with TMRPA since late 2011 when she was appointed to director of the agency. She has more than 20 years of professional planning experience. Before becoming executive director of TMRPA, Kim was the community planning services manager for the Washoe County Community Development Department. She holds a Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan and graduated cum laude from the Honors Program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management.
