LAS VEGAS (June 26, 2025) – For the second consecutive year, Sam & Ash Injury Law has proudly sponsored the West Career and Technical Academy (WCTA) Mock Trial Team, providing a $7,000 donation to support travel and competition expenses for the 2024–2025 academic year. The contribution helped the team participate in both the Nevada State Championship and the National High School Mock Trial Championship, held in Phoenix, Arizona, from May 8–10, 2025.
“It’s a privilege to once again support the West Career and Technical Academy Mock Trial Team as they represent Nevada on the national stage for a second straight year,” said Ash Watkins, partner at Sam & Ash Injury Law. “Sam and I deeply respect the drive and discipline these students bring to the legal field, and we’re proud to invest in the future of our community by backing such an exceptional group.”
Founded in 2020, the WCTA Mock Trial Team has demonstrated remarkable success. In just five years, the program has risen from successful showings in state and regional competitions to earning two consecutive invitations to the national stage—an impressive feat for such a young program.
This year’s National High School Mock Trial Championship brought together 48 teams from across the United States, along with international participants from South Korea and U.S. territories including Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. WCTA placed 19th overall, a strong showing among a highly competitive field.
“At Nationals, our students were challenged at the highest level – that excellence already sets a high bar for next season’s teams!” said Sarada Toomey, West Tech Mock Trial Team coach and coordinator. “This simply couldn’t be possible without Sam & Ash’s generosity. We are so thankful for Sam & Ash’s continued support of the West Tech Mock Trial program.”
