LAS VEGAS (May 20, 2025) – The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) of the State of Nevada’s Division of Industrial Relations recognizes Sega Sammy Creation, a gaming machine manufacturer in Las Vegas, Nevada for its second Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) designation. The company first received SHARP designation in 2019, and has since expanded its warehouse and office space significantly.
“Ever since our office opened in 2018, SCATS has been a prominent safety advisor,” said Aiko Hatano, Vice President of Corporate Operations at Sega Sammy Creation. “This is a proud moment for us, because receiving this achievement for a second time truly means we have retained the highest safety standards over the last few years.”
Sega Sammy is part of an elite group of businesses that have achieved SHARP status by maintaining exemplary health and safety standards. Participation in the no-cost program provides incentives and support to employers to develop, implement and continuously improve programs at their worksite(s). By taking these proactive measures, businesses can reduce accident costs and ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) regulations.
“Sega Sammy Creation has distinguished itself as a company that prioritizes employee safety,” said Todd Schultz, Chief Administrative Officer for SCATS. “We look forward to working more with the company, and applaud them as an industry leader in safety.”
SCATS consultants provide employers with confidential hazard identification, program development, implementation assistance and training. Employers who implement effective safety programs and have a days-away restricted transfer (DART) rate below the national average for their industry may be recognized by SCATS. Successful SHARP participants may receive up to a three-year deferral from OSHA’s general schedule inspections.
Businesses interested in SHARP can contact SCATS at 775-688-3730 (Reno) or 702-486-9140 (Las Vegas). For more information or to schedule free training courses, businesses can call 1-877-4SAFENV or visit 4safenv.state.nv.us.
