[LAS VEGAS, Nev.] – August 12, 2024 – Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) held its sixth annual back-to-school supply drive and delivered the supplies this week to four local schools, each in need of critical supplies for the school year. CCCU was able to collect and distribute essential school supplies to local Title 1 schools, ensuring students are well-equipped for the upcoming academic year.
This year’s drive saw significant contributions, including a $500 donation from the employees at Timet and several large donations from CCCU members and employees which played a crucial role in the supply drive. The credit union thanks all its members and employees who donated supplies and monetary contributions.
In total, CCCU collected over 6,500 school supplies, which were organized into 43 boxes and distributed to four Title 1 schools: C.T. Sewell Elementary, Charlotte & Jerry Keller Elementary, Clyde C. Cox Elementary, and Katz Elementary. Additionally, CCCU donated 118 reams of copy paper to these schools.
The collected items included composition notebooks, backpacks, pencils, crayons, headphones, glue sticks and other essential supplies. Each contribution, regardless of size, helps pave the way for a successful 2024-2025 school year for many students. CCCU is proud to see the community come together to support education and provide students with the tools they need to thrive.
In addition to the school supplies, CCCU surprised Keller Elementary with a $1,000 donation for the school year. Keller is the first school that the credit union partnered with since the launch of the Back-to-School Supply drive six years ago. The funds will go towards the school’s campus projects planned throughout the year. For more details about the surprise donation, please visit Channel 3’s news coverage here.
