Reno, NV, June 04, 2025 — Stan Can Design, a Reno-based brand and design studio, is proud to unveil the official logo for the 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree—marking the first time in history the tree will come from a national forest in Nevada.
Commissioned by the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, the logo celebrates this once-in-a-generation moment with a design that captures the project’s theme: “Starry Skies to Neon Lights: Spirit of the Silver State.”
Blending the timeless iconography of U.S. Forest Service portal signs with Nevada’s unmistakable mid-century neon aesthetic, the logo is a tribute to both the natural and cultural identity of the state.
“In the end, it wasn’t just about designing a logo,” said Stan Byers, Creative Director and Owner of Stan Can Design. “It was about capturing a sense of place, a sense of pride, and a moment in time. We’re honored to help share Nevada’s story with the rest of the country.”
The final design was a collaborative effort from the Stan Can team, with longtime Nevada resident and designer Ashley Parmentier-Smith leading the final creative execution. “I grew up in Las Vegas and watched so many of those old neon signs fall apart and fade away,” Parmentier-Smith said. “This was a chance to revive that magic, and to pair it with the beauty of Nevada’s public lands—it was a dream project.”
Jon Stansfield, Forest Supervisor of Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, echoed the sentiment: “Our 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree logo celebrates Nevada, from the magic of the dark skies above our national forest to the neon signs found in every town, large and small. We’re excited that a Nevada business partnered with us to create this important element of our tree’s journey to the U.S. Capitol.”
The logo will appear on everything from ornaments and event signage to digital promotions and official merchandise as the tree makes its journey from Nevada to Washington, D.C. Nevadans are also invited to contribute handmade ornaments and help send off the tree in true Silver State style.
