Political and AFSCME union leaders will gather at the Nevada State Legislative Building, May 5th, to announce support for state worker pay restoration.Pay for state employees has been eroded over the last 10 years

Carson City – Political and AFSCME union leaders from throughout Nevada will gather at the Nevada State Legislative Building on Friday, May 5, to announce support for state worker pay restoration. The state’s projected revenue for the current fiscal year and the coming biennium has increased by approximately $140 million. State workers have lost up to 30 percent in take-home pay over the last decade, and critical state services have suffered as a result of under staffing as workers leave for better paying public sector jobs. The state budget and economy are finally strong enough to address this issue.
