Reno, NV — May 6, 2026 — STEP2, a Reno-based nonprofit treatment program dedicated to breaking the cycle of addiction and violence in families by supporting women and mothers in recovery, is pleased to announce the appointment of Cynthia Osborn as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Cynthia is a purpose-driven leader with more than 15 years of experience in organizational leadership, operational strategy, and team development. She brings a strong track record of guiding large, diverse teams through change, strengthening organizational systems, and cultivating workplace cultures where people can thrive.
Most recently, she served as a local Agency President for a global insurance broker, where she led multistate operations and complex organizational initiatives while driving operational excellence and long-term strategic growth.
At the center of her leadership philosophy is a belief in people-first leadership and empowerment.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to lead STEP2,” Cynthia said. “Walking alongside a woman on her path to recovery is both a profound responsibility and a true privilege. This work changes lives. I am committed to leading with heart, purpose, and belief in what’s possible for every woman, every family, every future.”
Cynthia is also a longtime advocate for women and families and has maintained a deep connection to STEP2 for more than 15 years as a volunteer and community supporter. Her longstanding relationship with the organization reflects a personal commitment to its mission and the women it serves.
As CEO, she will lead STEP2 in advancing its comprehensive continuum of care, including residential and transitional housing, outpatient treatment, domestic violence education and prevention, and supportive services that help women, pregnant women, and mothers.
STEP2 Board leadership expressed confidence in Cynthia’s ability to guide the organization forward.
“Cynthia brings both exceptional leadership experience and deep ties to STEP2’s mission,” said Darcy Carpenter, Board President. “We are confident in her ability to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and impact.”
STEP2 remains committed to its mission of empowering women and families in recovery. Under Cynthia’s leadership, the organization looks ahead with continued focus on strengthening services, expanding impact, and supporting long-term healing and stability for the community it serves.
Cynthia began her role on May 4, 2026.
