LAS VEGAS (April 14, 2026) – April is Autism Awareness month and Teachers Health Trust (THT), the nonprofit health insurance plan for educators in Clark County, Nevada, is highlighting that it has expanded its innovative, outcomes-first approach to support families seeking an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis or therapy while also cutting costs for care.
THT partners with Aspire Behavioral Services to provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) care for children with an ASD diagnosis. Available at home or at the new Aspire clinic co-located at the THT office (2950 E. Rochelle Ave.), the care is tailored to a child’s strengths, needs, and goals.
“My family and I moved to Las Vegas from Orange County, Calif., in 2022, where resources for children with autism are not only abundant, but easy to access,” said Echo Sualua, a school counselor for the Clark County School District. “When we got to Las Vegas, I quickly realized how different it was. I struggled to even find services like ABA or speech therapy, and when I finally did, we were placed on waiting lists that felt never-ending. Then through THT, I found Aspire Behavioral Services, and from my very first interaction, I felt heard, I felt seen, and I felt like someone genuinely cared. That feeling didn’t fade—it has continued every single day since. They didn’t just provide services, they gave me hope again for my son’s future and that he will continue to grow, learn, and thrive.”
THT has also cut in half the cost that members pay for ABA therapy from Aspire Behavioral Services. The program uses a monthly copay model, similar to a subscription, ranging from $30 per month for up to 10 hours a week to $180 per month for 40 hours of service weekly.
In addition, THT allows members to access adolescent neuropsychological evaluation services for Autism diagnoses with Dr. Michelle Zochowski-Tullio of Las Vegas Valley Mental Health for a flat $100 copay that covers the initial workup and care plan. Dr. Zochowski-Tullio has committed to offering these services within two weeks, when a typical wait time could be a year or more for an appointment.
“Too many people face limited access to behavioral health services especially with regards to Autism, so at THT we wanted to provide our members, the educators of Clark County, with timely access to services and care with less paperwork and lower copays,” said Tom Zumtobel, CEO of Teachers Health Trust. “Working with Dr. Zochowski-Tullio is important because earlier diagnosis creates opportunities for early treatment. And the partnership with Aspire ensures that the care is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s personalized care that meets a child where they are, focuses on meaningful skills, and celebrates every step forward—whether that’s at home, in school, or out in the community.”
