Teachers Health Trust (THT), the 42 year old self-funded, nonprofit health insurance plan for educators in Clark County, Nevada, hosted “Medicine on the Move,” a mobile medical center sponsored by Optum/Southwest Medical Associates at Laughlin High School last month and has three more events planned for next week.
At the Medicine on the Move mobile event, THT members can get annual wellness exams, mammograms, and basic lab tests and immunizations. The upcoming THT mobile health care events are:
- Tuesday, Dec. 16 – Sunrise Mountain High School from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, Dec. 17 – Centennial High School from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 18 – Liberty High School from 12 noon to 7 p.m.

“Wellness exams and mammograms are critically important diagnostic tools to aid in early detection of health concerns, such as high blood pressure and breast cancer,” said Tom Zumtobel, CEO of the Teachers Health Trust. “We are proud to be able to bring these mobile events directly to educators at Southern Nevada schools. First in Laughlin, where options for accessing care are more limited, and next week, at three high schools located in each corner of the Las Vegas valley. We hope we can make it more convenient for THT members to get the health care services they need.”
