The Vegas Golden Knights have taken the NHL by storm in their inaugural season with eight wins in their first nine games, setting a record for an expansion team. Their profound response following the events of October 1 made the Knights strongly tied with the community in Las Vegas. From a team of so-called “misfits” to the Western Conference Champions, the Vegas Golden Knights have brought a new meaning to the term “Vegas Strong.” As Las Vegas’ first major professional sports team, the Vegas Golden Knights recognize and embrace their duty to strengthen and inspire our community.
“Our goal for 2018/19 is to ensure the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation is delivering the highest possible community impact to Vegas, through creative fundraising, partnerships, and outreach,” said John Coogan, President of the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation and Executive Director of The Folded Flag Foundation. “The Foundation represents the heart of the team and we wish to give back to the community, as Vegas has embraced our team with immense enthusiasm, spirit and open arms.”
The Golden Knights Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves as the primary charitable link between the NHL’s newest team and the Las Vegas community. The foundation is focused on five priorities – fostering the physical, social and emotional growth of Las Vegas youth, with an emphasis on sports; making a sustainable, positive impact on health and wellness through research, education and prevention; enhancing teaching and learning through K-12 public school programs; securing the future of Las Vegas military, first responders, and their families; and fighting hunger and homelessness by addressing their root causes.
Join us to celebrate the Vegas Golden Knights’ achievement and help benefit the Golden Knights Foundation.
