The Nevada Population Health Conference 2019 will explore innovative population health programs by the private and public sectors to improve the health of Nevadans.
Sponsored by UnitedHealthcare, Holland & Hart, and several other local community partners, the conference educates local professionals and students on population health concepts and training on Medical Legal Partnerships (MLPs) in Nevada.
The conference will explore innovative population health programs by the private and public sectors to improve the health of Nevadans. Population health focuses on groups of individuals and considers the many elements that, in addition to healthcare services, contribute to a person’s health. These elements include:
• Public health programs
• Social factors (income, education, employment, social support, and culture)
• The physical environment (urban design, clean air, and water)
• Genetics
• Individual behavior
We are working to create Medical Legal Partnerships (MLP) in Nevada. An MLP is a partnership of civil legal service providers and healthcare providers that facilitates the delivery of pro bono legal services to vulnerable populations in a clinical setting with the overall goal of improving a patient’s health.
We encourage attendees to make a tax deductible donation to the Nevada Bar Foundation to make grants to pro bono legal service providers to support medical legal partnerships here in Nevada. The Nevada Bar Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to support the provision of legal services to the financially-challenged, victims of domestic violence, children protected by or in need of protection of the juvenile court, and to support law related education. The conference is open to all professionals and students. There is no cost for students with valid student IDs. Registration funds vary if you are attending with CLE/CME or without. Box lunches will be provided by UnitedHealthcare.
