The Nevada Treasury announced the winners of its fifth annual “What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up” art contest, including students from schools across northern and southern Nevada. The contest, open to students from pre-K to 12th grade from August 11 to October 13, encouraged them to create original artwork illustrating what they want to be when they grow up.
Top award-winning students from each grade are recognized by The Nevada Treasury for their exceptional work. First-place winners will receive $1,000, second-place winners will receive $500, and third-place winners will receive $250. All prize money will be awarded in the form of a 529 college savings account.
“Congratulations to the outstanding winners of our fifth annual art contest. Each year, we are inspired by students’ creativity and aspirations, and we’re honored to contribute to their post-secondary education journeys,” said Dr. Tya Mathis-Coleman, Deputy Treasurer of College Savings at the Nevada Treasury. “By contributing to these students’ 529 college savings plans, we hope to encourage their dreams and empower them to keep exploring the possibilities ahead.”
First, second and third place winners from all grade levels, along with their families and schools, will be honored at a private reception on Wednesday, December 17, at The Windmill Library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Students’ artwork is currently on display at the library through February 17, 2026.
