Retired Henderson and NYPD Officer and host of “The Problem Solver” TV show and podcast, David Kohlmeier, has launched a “Check Your Kids Candy Campaign” in Las Vegas and Henderson to advise parents to check their kids candy to prevent death from possible criminal activity of people placing Fenatanyl inside candy bags.Kohlmeier expresses “with Halloween approaching, parents need to be diligent about checking candy by not allowing them to eat anything until it has been inspected completely.”
The “Check Your Kids Candy” campaign will be announced throughout local media channels as well as in social media.
Kohlmeier states ” recently a suspect attempted to go through TSA screening in Los Angeles Airport with several bags of candy and miscellaneous snacks with the intent of boarding a plane. It was discovered by TSA officials that inside the “Sweetarts” “Skittles” and “Whoppers” candy boxes were filled with fentanyl pills and not candy.
The suspect fled prior to being detained by law enforcement, but has been identified. A full investigation is pending.”
The American Medical Association has published that the nation’s drug overdose epidemic continues to change and become worse. The epidemic affects every state and now is driven by illicit fentanyl, fentanyl analogs. methamphetamines and cocaine, often in combination or adulterated forms. More than 107,000 deaths were reported in the United States between December 2020 and December 2021.
