LAS VEGAS –Linda Perez, CEO of The Shade Tree, a 24-hour accessible shelter designed to specifically meet the needs of those escaping domestic violence, human trafficking and homelessness, their children and pets (through a partnership with Noah’s Animal House), is pleased to announce the appointment of Joyce Smith to the nonprofit’s board of trustees.
Smith, a long-time Nevada resident and community supporter, is senior vice president of commercial banking at MidFirst Bank where she focuses on delivering strategic financial solutions and creating robust client relationships. During her 37-year career in the financial services industry, Smith has helped countless southern Nevada businesses. She currently serves on the board of trustees of the Vegas Chamber and a variety of nonprofit organizations throughout the community.

The Shade Tree, located at 1 West Owens Ave., has served southern Nevada for more than 35 years. The organization offers residential areas with sleeping rooms, a children’s activity center, meals, case management services, programming, housing assistance and more.
