This October, in support of Careers in Construction Month, Nigro Construction is calling on the community to help equip the next generation of skilled trades professionals. The new ‘Tools for Trades’ Drive, will collect new and gently used tools to put directly into the hands of local construction students at Southeast Career and Technical Academy (SECTA), breaking down barriers for those entering the industry and showing them that our community believes in their potential.
“With construction playing such a vital role in our economy, we want to make sure the next generation has the resources and support to succeed,” said Cory Frank, Vice President of Business Development and Project Management, Nigro Construction. “Tools for Trades is a simple but powerful way for the Las Vegas community to invest in future builders, carpenters and other trades professionals who continue to build Nevada.”
The construction industry must attract nearly half a million new workers each year to meet growing workforce demands, according to the Associated Builders and Contractors. Careers in construction offer stability, growth and the satisfaction of building something that lasts. Nigro Construction, together with SECTA, is committed to supporting local careers in construction.
“Everyone is talking about the shortage of skilled labor, but I see no shortage of bright talent in my classroom eagerly waiting for an opportunity to work in the trades,” said Lucas Inman, construction technology instructor at Southeast Career and Technical Academy. “This support and investment from the community will have an impact that will last a lifetime on the students and the industry.

Donate Tools: New tools including tool belts with carpenter pouches, 25′ tape measures, framing hammers, torpedo levels, nail pullers, carpenter pencils, markers, retractable utility knives, chalk boxes, 4 ft. levels, wire strippers, gauge blocks, sandpaper (80 – 220 grit) and calculators (Construction Master Pro).
