LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas-based Undercover Productions recently received the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Legacy Small Business of the Year Award from its Nevada district office. The Southern Nevada business will be recognized at the Small Business Awards Luncheon on May 9, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at IPEC Las Vegas, 6590 Bermuda Road. The event takes place during Small Business Week, May 4-10.
Recognizing long-standing businesses that have contributed to the local economy, the award also honors the businesses of Founder Julie Robinson’s parents and grandparents.
“I grew up watching my parents run their own businesses and had the powerful example of seeing how much dedication it takes,” Robinson said. “I am forever grateful to them for their loving example. The best feeling in the world is being able to provide people with work, and this has now been over 26 years and it still provides me with a deep satisfaction.”
Robinson, who is also a psychologist, started Undercover Productions in 1998 after arriving in Las Vegas in 1985 from Missouri. Following a 10-year run as a performer, she opened her own business and quickly became a well-respected vendor for top entertainment destinations and show producers in Las Vegas. Undercover Productions offers event production services, brand ambassadors, hospitality staffing, custom show production and more.
Each year, the U.S. Small Business Administration recognizes small businesses around the country as part of Small Business Week in May. Individuals and businesses must be nominated to be considered for the awards.
