LAS VEGAS (Nov. 21, 2024) – United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) recently hosted its 17th annual Women United Suit Drive, which resulted in the most successful suit drive to date. To commemorate this milestone, UWSN and Women United held the annual Suit Drive Celebration Breakfast at the Las Vegas Country Club on November 20.
The event brought together community leaders, supporters and Women United members to celebrate the suit drive’s impact. Attendees were able to hear and learn from a dynamic panel of nonprofit leaders, including Bryan Stewart, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Goodwill of Southern Nevada; Debra Isaacs, Founder and President, UNSHAKEABLE; Linda Perez, CEO, The Shade Tree; Shaundra Higgins, Development & Communications Manager, U.S.VETS Las Vegas.
Over 17,000 gently used professional clothing items and accessories were donated by community members across Southern Nevada, including blazers, skirts, hospital scrubs, shoes, and more. These donations will support women in local return-to-work programs, helping them prepare for job interviews, re-enter the workforce and achieve financial independence.
